A message from Lady Elish Angiolini LT DBE KC

The Inquiry is now working on Part 2, which is investigating police recruitment, vetting, culture, and standards and the broader concerns surrounding women’s safety in public spaces that were highlighted by the abduction, rape and murder of Sarah Everard.
I wish to invite views and contributions from families of women murdered in public spaces by a stranger so that I hear from those who have been most directly affected as provided for in the Terms of Reference. It is important to me that anyone who has lost a loved one in this way and who wishes to speak to the Inquiry has the opportunity to do so. Should you decide to speak to the Inquiry I will ensure this happens in a way that is most comfortable for you and meets your needs.
I recognise you may have questions about the Inquiry and wish to consider those carefully before deciding whether to engage with us. My team look forward to answering those questions and talking to you.
